Over the years, we’ve beautified spaces utilizing a wide array of stains and clear finishes. These include everything from spray applications of varying types of lacquer, to brush-applied traditional finishes, like polyurethanes, shellac, tung oil and waxes. Here’s a sample…

These are the exterior surfaces of the front doors on the TOH Charleston TV project. We used a product called Sikkens Door & Window. The patina on this old walnut is exquisite!


The mantle on the TOH Watertown TV project. The finish is a shellac with a top-coat of padding lacquer, applied by tamping with a lacquer-moistened rag--a version of a French polish technique. It is a very time-consuming technique, but among the most exquisite finishes I've ever seen...or felt!

This staircase woodwork was coated with layers of latex paint. Using a paint stripper, we unveiled the glorious chestnut beneath, and dressed it more appropriately in a shellac & wax finish.
